Course contents:

  • Introduction to wastewater treatment and basic definitions
  • Quality characteristics of wastewater
  • Primary treatment
  • Secondary treatment (activated sludge, trickling filters)
  • Removal of nitrogen and phosphorus
  • Tertiary treatment
  • Disinfection (Chlorination, ozonation, UV)
  • Sludge processing

Laboratory Exercises:

  • One laboratory exercise- individual report: 100% of the Lab grade

Assessment and grading method:

  • Lab work, 10% of the grade,
  • Final  closed-book written exam, 90% of the grade
