2. LEARNING OUTCOMES

Learning Outcomes

The course of "Agricultural Engineering" offers students an in-depth introduction to the concepts of irrigation and drainage. More specifically, topics related to crop irrigation demands, evapotranspiration, irrigation planning, selection of irrigation methods, irrigation water quality, soil salinity, and basic principles of soil drainage are covered.

Upon successful completion of this course the students will acquire new knowledge and specific skills on the following subjects:

  • Will have knowledge of crop evapotranspiration estimation
  • Will gain knowledge on planning irrigation programs
  • Will be able to select the appropriate irrigation method and design irrigation networks
  • Will be capable to evaluate water quality and potential damage to soil and crops
  • Will learn the basic principles of drainage networks design
General Competencies/Skills
  • Review, analyze and synthesize data and information, with the use of necessary technologies
  • Adaptation ability
  • Decision making
