Course objectives:

The course presents the basic concepts of groundwater flow and contaminant transport in the subsurface. Analytical techniques for the solution of various mathematical models describing contaminant transport in porous media. Emphasis is placed on the adsorption of contaminants on solid matrix of various types of porous media, and to multiple applications of the DLVO theory.
