  • 1991: Diploma in Rural and Surveying Engineering, School of Rural and Surveying Engineering, NTUA.

Research Interests

Research Unit of Geodesy and Geographic Information Systems was founded in September 2006, aiming to teach and conduct research on issues related to:

  • Capture and design parts of Natural Earth Surface with modern geodetic instruments and using appropriate software.
  • The introduction and use of GIS and design applications in environmental issues.

Participation in Research Programs and Projects

  • 1991- 2002 Participation in NTUA projects:  participated in 12 SRSE NTUA projects, including a full range of activities, from collecting , processing and analysis of data, to the organizing, coordinating and supervising of the scientific team.
  • Scientific supervisor of research projects at the TUC
  • July 2008 – October 2011 “Development of Indices for the recording of the Environmental Quality of city streets, using GIS – GPS”, Basic Research project, 2008, TUC.
  • Organizational and Scientific Supervisor of Workshops: “The Capacities of the Arc GIS platform”, 21/10/16, TUC. In cooperation with representatives from the Data Marathon Systems company.
  • “Surveillance technologies and environmental protection, an interdisciplinary approach”, 13/01/17, co organized by the TUC, TCG – Department of Western Crete, and the Law Association of Chania.

Distinctions and Awards

  • 1991: Due to the completion of studies in 4.5 years – less than the expected length of 5 years -  I was awarded the Diploma of Rural Surveying Engineer by Resolution of the NTUA Senate. Fourth best graduate in the SRSE out of 75 graduates.
